Job Description - DevOps Architect / Engineering Manager

Get to know the role:

A proven engineering manager capable of leading teams with hands-on experience in building large scale infrastructure leveraging the elasticity of the cloud and willingness and capability to learn new technologies and desire to provide magical experience to application teams with strong interpersonal skills and ability to get things done.

The day-to-day activities:-

  • Collaborate with delivery teams and support them whenever needed.
  • Participate in technical meetings like infrastructure audits and review meetings.
  • Audit infrastructure of the projects at large encompassing across networks, computes, access control, governance etc.
  • Identify automation candidates in the projects and bring more autonomy to delivery teams.
  • Mentor other engineers and help engineering leadership to define and build engineering culture and roadmap.

The must have:-

  • Experience leading 10-15 member team of dev-ops engineers and driving large-scale projects in collaboration with application and delivery teams to deliver great digital experiences.
  • 6+ years of experience in designing and running large scale infrastructure.
  • Experience with all major public clouds (AWS, AZURE and GCP). AWS preferable.
  • Strong knowledge in Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos or Nomad and related cloud-native ecosystem.
  • Strong knowledge in fundamentals of networks, operating systems including network security.
  • Experience in delivering great developer and operator experience. Should treat developers as one of the primary stakeholders and work towards providing them a great experience focusing primarily around self service capabilities and works towards bringing more autonomy to the delivery teams.
  • Strong communication skills and can act as an advisor, mentor and coach for DevOps engineers.
  • Experience in one of languages: Python or Go.
  • Infrastructure provisioning tools like Ansible, Chef, puppet or equivalent.

Good to have:

  • Experience in extending Kubernetes particularly Custom Resource Definitions, Operators, Service Catalogs.
