Role – Director – L&OD

Department - Human Resources

Reporting : VP People

Leading : 1-2 reportees

 

Scope of the Role

The Head of L&OD will be responsible for creating the learning culture at Material. Learning is one of our core values and we intend to nurture and propagate growth mindset at Material. For that purpose, this role will be the expert, the influencer, the leader and the doer who will create an effective, engaging and efficient L&D strategy that will be firmly interspersed in all aspects of employee life cycle and business plans thereby meaningfully contributing to business growth as well as act as a tool for employee engagement and talent development

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design, development and implementation of the global Learning and Development strategy and solutions starting from TNA to design & delivery, to impact analysis as per business needs. Create a learning culture that’s self sufficing enabling a system and process that supports and nurtures SMEs, creates internal knowledge and helps in cross skilling employees for relevant business needs and to support career aspirations
  • Work with Business, support teams and HR business partners to identify and implement organization learning and development programs to support and partner with the business. Support the delivery of global development programs. Develop and deliver new learning & development programs as required by the strategic talent needs of the business

·       Consult with business leaders to understand their leadership and management development needs for input and the appropriate sponsorship, engagement and alignment. Facilitate high-impact leadership development programs, first time manager training, new employee induction training, Material Values learning, continuous performance management skills, and high potential accelerated development programs

 

  • Manage the maintenance and execution of the performance and talent management processes linked to operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness

·       Innovate and implement unique learning initiatives, such as mentorship or coaching programs, cross-functional team projects, and industry-specific simulations, to enhance experiential learning opportunities

·       Design and implement programs that aim to grow organizational capability through employee engagement, recognition, DEI, capability development, career development, succession planning, etc. for APAC

·       Evaluate and select learning technologies and tools that enhance the learning experience and enable self-directed learning for employees.

 

 


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, consult and partner for effectiveness
  • Learning design and delivery skills
  • Thorough understanding of proven and latest L&OD methods and best practices
  • Ability to design and implement full-cycle talent & performance management programs
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, AI solutions
  • Awareness of learning design and delivery tools like adobe captivate or articulate etc

 

 

Education and Experience:

  • 15+ years of global L&OD including learning design and delivery, stakeholder management for L&D, OD, talent and performance management for MNCs
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience of having run and managed L&OD for global organisations from India. Ability to manage global stakeholders. Experience of having deliver learning solutions for US, EMEA and APAC
  • Education in HR, and/or Learning design and delivery certifications, coaching/learning/psychometric certifications will be an added advantage
