Overview

Reporting to the Assoc. Director, Enterprise Applications Finance as a member of the IT Enterprise Applications team, the Business Analyst, Finance is a talented individual contributor, responsible for documenting, requirements gathering and supporting Workday financial modules. This position requires an in-depth understanding of Workday finance, and financial data analysis.

The Business Analyst, Finance is an enthusiastic individual contributor who partners with Material Finance stakeholders (e.g., FP&A, General Accounting, Management Reporting, and Accounts Payable and Receivable) to support Material’s Finance technology needs, and act as Material IT’s support arm for core finance to serve their day-to-day operations within Workday Financials. They appreciate nuance, but fight complexity, motivated by the satisfaction of faster, more reliable outcomes for Material’s Finance teams, leaders, and end-users. They are energized by exposure to the full gamut of Enterprise Applications, translating business needs into reliable & secure solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  •         Post-Production Support: Supporting the core finance team with their day to day ensuring operational efficiency and controls through requirements gathering, documentation, reporting and analysis.
  • Serve as a partner supporting Finance modules in Workday, including Supplier Accounts, Financial Accounting (FDM), Procurement, Customer Accounts, Business Assets, Account Posting Rules, Intercompany, Accounting Center, and FIN/PSA.
  • Help ensure data integrity and optimization of processes like month-end close, year-end close, audits, procure-pay, etc.
  • Maintain documentation to support training, knowledge transfers and change management procedures utilizing SDLC practices.
  • Participate in biweekly sprints utilizing agile methodology gather requirements for fit and purpose.
  • Participate in scheduled and ad-hoc training and UAT to improve deliverables and processes acumen.
  • Contribute to solution design and system configuration of Workday Financials.
  • Provide analysis of impacts to features and reporting in Workday based on new releases or updates to integrated system functionality and recommend/apply changes.
  • Collaborate across the business to understand requirements, process improvements and gaps from key finance stakeholders.’
  • Become the front facing role of IT Enterprise Applications, Finance for gather business needs.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, or information systems
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Workday Financials administration, configuration, support, and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts (FDM), and data analysis.
  • Experience with enterprise general ledger accounting
  • Workday Pro Financials certification
